Pay it Forward

So, here's a picture of the bread cloth I did for pay it forward.

The design is the Aconites Sampler out of my Cross Stitch from Nature book but I changed it to include the Bible verse instead of having "ABC'

Questions Answered

Here are some answers to some of the questions in recent comments:

1. Yes, they are two different babies.  The picture on the left is Zoé when she was about a month old and the one on the right is Adèle currently who is just over a month old.  Adèle has the prettiest blue eyes in contrast to her sister (who has brown) so she may get Mommy's green eyes after all (eventually).  Otherwise, their hair and facial features are nearly identical.  We'll see if Adèle's hair lightens up and curls like Zoé's has.

2. The stocking is a Dimensions Gold Collections kit called "Winter's Twilight Stocking."

Stocking as promised

Here is the current stocking progress:  The top half of the chart is done minus the top part with the personalization (I'll do it last)

I think my babies may be mistaken for twins once they're like 3 or 4.  Can you tell them apart?

Checking in...

So, I thought I was going to work this week but I ended up not because I had a few loose ends that needed tying up.

Zoé has a whopping case of separation anxiety and won't go to sleep by herself anymore, so I'm sitting in her room with the laptop right now, waiting for her to go to sleep.

I've become addicted to Phineas and Ferb which if you haven't heard of it is an animated show on the Disney Channel.  Something the whole family will enjoy as it's clean but has a lot of references only adults will get.  Phineas and Ferb are two stepbrothers who spend everyday of their summer vacation inventing something new.  They have a pet platypus named Perry who really is a secret agent.  Here's a picture of him as the mild mannered pet (he has a fedora on when he's "Agent P")

I also joined Swagbucks and so far have earned $25 in Amazon Gift Cards.  I've decided to save them up to get the new Nintendo 3DS.  My DS lite died last year and I haven't been able to afford a new one.  Don't have a lot of time to play it but I did enjoy it and I have a lot of games I never finished.

Working on the stocking this week.  I will post a picture tomorrow most likely.  Also mailed off my Mom's picture and a PIF.  I'll post a picture of that once it gets to it's owner

Another piece framed

Decided to frame one of my other pieces with the $1.50 frame from Wal-Mart.

Another ornament

Well, I finished stitching on the Christmyth Phoenix.  I think it stands out real well on the dark blue evenweave but you can't really see the  backstitching.

She's so cute when she's sleeping but not when she's crying at 3:30 am and 4:30 am and 5:30 am....

Finally Framed

Got a $1.50 frame at Wal-Mart.  Decided not to use the glass.  Now, I just have to send it to my Mom.

Christmyth Finish

Finished it today!  Still need to turn it into a pillow at some point.

Change of Pace

Today, I decided to do a Christmyth ornament instead of working on the stocking.  It's the fairy.

It's got a bit of Krenik in it.  I probably can get it finished tomorrow assuming the babies let me stitch.

I've slowly made progress on the stocking.  The first page is basically done.

Shelf Porn! (okay, it's really just a shot of my bookshelves)

We've been talking about books a bit in my Counted Cross Stitch Group.  This was the bookshelves pre-marriage (aka, 2 years ago when I lived alone in a one bedroom apartment in Wisconsin).

Me as Tonks:
Yeah, I had really, really short hair then.

Progress

I got some stitching in today.

Updates and Things

The beginning of this week has been busy.  Monday was try to get aid for the family day so the four of us went to Lewisville to do that.  Hoping that it turns out good since I really need help with rent this month (disability does not pay enough to make rent).  Tuesday was doctor's appointments for both girls.  Adèle has gained weight (exciting!) but Zoé had to get 6 shots.  She was crying so hard my husband said he wanted to punch the nurse.  She got a stuffed Pluto and some chocolate pudding out of the deal.

The last day I did some stitching, I ended up using Adèle as a stand for my cross stitch pattern.  Things are going well on the stocking, albeit slowly.  I am about 1/3 completed roughly.  The houses are the most complicated part and the rest of it has a lot of areas of the same color.  The half crosses make everything go a lot faster and have a great shading effect.
